Community gardens provide nutritious food at low cost, promote skills that encourage self-reliance, revitalize neighborhoods, stimulate positive social interaction, provide opportunities for recreation and exercise, and uniquely improve the quality of life and well-being of participants. Spokane Community Gardens, working with Spokane residents, neighborhoods, community organizations and government agencies, exists to provide support for independent community gardens within Spokane County, Washington in the form of education, facilitation, advocacy and finances to enhance existing and help develop new community gardens.
